Sarah Elisabeth Goode

Sarah Elisabeth Goode was an inventor and entrepreneur from the United States. She was one of the first Black women to receive a United States patent. Goode designed a folding cabinet bed that was perfect for people living in tight housing and allowed them to make use of their space in a more efficient manner. It was also the precursor of the Murphy Bed.

Longevity and care

All our items are sewn with the utmost care to ensure they will be staples in your wardrobe for years to come. In order to aid their capacity to last, especially when it comes to our natural fabrics that are more sensitive than synthetics, please ensure to follow the care instructions below:

  • only wash when necessary on a gentle cycle at 20°C or at most 30°C
  • do not use bleach and be careful when using spot cleaning treatments to ensure they are suitable for the fabric at hand
  • do not tumble dry
  • iron inside out on low

Shipping and returns

Standard shipping can take up to 4 weeks as your items are made to order.

If in any way not represented by our sizing chart or if there is something you would like to modify about a particular design, we can set up a custom order to meet your needs.

For sizing alterations, we offer custom orders free of charge on all full priced item. When an items is discounted, we offer custom orders for a small fee that does not surpass 15% of the product’s price.

Design alterations and customisations that require additional fabric come at a fee that depends on the extent of the customisation. 

Examples of customisations we can offer: 

  • sizing customisations if in between sizes
  • tall/petite alterations
  • widening sleeves to ensure a comfortable fit over the bicep
  • changing buttons, removing/adding frills or lace details, deepening or modifying the necklines, shortening/lengthening or modifying the puffiness of sleeves
  • making the design in a different colour/suitable fabric
  • removing pockets if needed
  • customisations for accessiblity/mobility

Please note that custom orders are not eligible for returns and that you are responsible to provide us with accurate measurements and all the information related to your sizing concerns.

Standard total inseam length is 75cms. Length can vary depending on size and the product showcased may have been altered to best fit the model’s height

Don’t know your size? No problem! Please consult our sizing charts to be sure you are ordering the right fit for you.

The BUST circumference should be measured under your arms, around the body, over the fullest area of your bust.

The WAIST circumference should be measured around the body, at the natural waistline, over the most narrow part in between the bust and belly button.

The HIPS circumference should be measured around the body, across the fullest part of the hips.

Can’t find your size?

We offer custom orders if you need it – this applies both to sizing up or down what we currently offer and customising in case you are in between sizing, the sizes for chest/waist/hips differ, length for petite/tall and if you have certain requests for accessibility/mobility.
