Discover the legacy of
Elise "Lise" Meitner

Lise Meitner was part of the team that discovered, explained nuclear fission and foresaw its explosive potential. She was the second woman to obtain a doctorate degree from the University of Vienna and had the element 109 named in her honor: meitnerium. In 1942, Meitner was invited to work on the Manhattan Project but adamantly refused, stating “I will have nothing to do with a bomb!” After the war, Meitner continued to avoid any connection to her research and the atomic bomb. Her work was overlooked when, in 1944, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to only Otto Hahn for his work on nuclear fission. Recognition for her scientific contributions included the Max Planck Medal in 1949 and the Enrico Fermi Award alongside Hahn and Strassmann in 1966.

  • only wash when necessary on a gentle cycle at 20°C or at most 30°C
  • do not use bleach and be careful when using spot cleaning treatments to ensure they are suitable for the fabric at hand
  • do not tumble dry
  • iron inside out on low

Shipping and returns

Standard shipping can take up to 4 weeks as your items are made to order.

If in any way not represented by our sizing chart or if there is something you would like to modify about a particular design, we can set up a custom order to meet your needs.

For sizing alterations, we offer custom orders free of charge on all full priced item. When an items is discounted, we offer custom orders for a small fee that does not surpass 15% of the product’s price.

Design alterations and customisations that require additional fabric come at a fee that depends on the extent of the customisation. 

Examples of customisations we can offer: 

  • sizing customisations if in between sizes
  • tall/petite alterations
  • widening sleeves to ensure a comfortable fit over the bicep
  • changing buttons, removing/adding frills or lace details, deepening or modifying the necklines, shortening/lengthening or modifying the puffiness of sleeves
  • making the design in a different colour/suitable fabric
  • removing pockets if needed
  • customisations for accessiblity/mobility

Please note that custom orders are not eligible for returns and that you are responsible to provide us with accurate measurements and all the information related to your sizing concerns.

Standard total length is 55cms. Length can vary depending on size and the product showcased may have been altered to best fit the model’s height

The BUST circumference should be measured under your arms, around the body, over the fullest area of your bust.

The WAIST circumference should be measured around the body, at the natural waistline, over the most narrow part in between the bust and belly button.

The HIPS circumference should be measured around the body, across the fullest part of the hips.

Can’t find your size?

We offer custom orders if you need it – this applies both to sizing up or down what we currently offer and customising in case you are in between sizing, the sizes for chest/waist/hips differ, length for petite/tall and if you have certain requests for accessibility/mobility.
