• Made from soft & sheer white organic cotton voile, the Josephine is a decorative cape that’s hip length, with three rows of bouncy ruffles adorning it. The ruffles are attached horizontally and the cape can be tied with two strings.
• Lavinia is wearing L and her height is 1.87m.
• Standard length from shoulder to hem is 60cms. Length can vary a few cms depending on size and the product showcased has been altered in length to best fit the model’s height.

Josephine Butler was a Victorian feminist and social reformer who campaigned for women’s suffrage, the right of women to better education, the end of coverture in British law, the abolition of child prostitution, and an end to human trafficking of young women and children into prostitution. She had many achievements, some of which being fighting a European campaign against state regulation of prostitution, enforced by “morals police”, had a major role in William Stead’s campaign against child prostitution in London, was instrumental in raising the age of consent from 13 to 16 in 1885 and led a campaign against the Contagious Diseases Acts in India. Butler also took a great interest in women’s education. She pressured the authorities at Cambridge University into providing further education courses for women, which eventually led to the foundation of the all-women college at Newnham.
