“Murasaki” Skirt Green Lyocell

A beautiful, frilly and romantic knee length skirt that can be worn in two ways: It has a lace path in the front that if not tied, the skirt is slightly loose fitting from the hips down, but when the lace is pulled and tied, the skirt lifts and it creates a more bodycon, mermaidy silhouette. The frill at the bottom add a touch of cute & playful and dare you to take a twirl.

• Made from soft lyocell in sage green, the Murasaki skirt is knee length, has a fitted waistline with elastic on the sides for a comfortable fit and a hidden zipper at the back. The silhouette comes slightly flared from the waist down and ends in a rich frill. It can be worn in two ways: It has a lace path in the front that if not tied, the skirt comes straight down from the hips, but when the lace is pulled and tied, the skirt lifts and it creates a more bodycon, mermaidy silhouette.

• Standard length from waistline to hem is 69cms (can vary a few cms depending on size, standard length was measured on size L).

Murasaki Shikibu, Japanese writer and lady-in-waiting who was the author of the Genji monogatari, generally considered the greatest work of Japanese literature and thought to be the world’s oldest full novel. The Tale of Genji gives amazing insights into Japanese high society in a period of radical change. She is also remembered for her diary, which in addition to its literary qualities is a source for what little we know of her life. One of her many poems appears in the country’s best-known poetic anthology Hyakunin isshu, a collection of single poems by 100 writers of the classical age.
