“Malalai” Skirt Floral Tencel

The Malalai is our best seller’s Flora little sister, if you will – we wanted to take the Flora and simplify it, while respecting its silhouette and design basis. So we made it half circle, shortened it a bit, but kept the bottom frill and swishability. Just as cute, but more practical and wearable & more affordable as well.

• Made from soft Tencel in a beautiful floral print (a brown background with lilies in white, pink and purple), the Malalai is a midi length half circle skirt with a frill at the bottom and an elasticated waistband.
• Karin is wearing 4XL and her height is 1.60m.
• Standard length from waistline to hem is 70cms (can vary a few cms depending on size, standard length was measured on size 2XL).
• The fabric is a soft, silk like 100% Tencell, not stretchy but with wonderful flow. Feels luxurious and similar to silk, but completely vegan and certified to ensure its gentleness to the environment.
• Feature an elasticated waist to ensure a comfortable fit.

She served as a Parliamentarian in the National Assembly of Afghanistan from 2005 until early 2007, after being dismissed for publicly denouncing the presence of warlords and war criminals in the Afghan Parliament. She was an outspoken critic of the Karzai administration and its western supporters, particularly the United States. A controversial political figure in one of the most dangerous places on earth, Malalai Joya is a hero for our times.
